Canon has always had some great cameras and their S-series is one of the best for both experienced and amateur photographers. Two of the least expensive that you will find are the S60 and S70. When you compare the features of the camera, you can save a few bucks to stick with the S70 S70.The was released in August 2004. It is only reasonable to assume that some of the features have fallen behind the cameras that were released more recently, but is still incredibly competitive with cameras that are only a year or less.
To prove that it is still a decent camera, start the comparison between the characteristics of the camera of this model and more modern models that Canon has released S60.The as the S70 has a diaphragm compared to the S60 that 2,5-5,3 has an aperture of 3,3-4,9. There is a difference of slightly more than the focal length as it would compare with a 35mm camera. The S70 is a 28-100mm whereas the S60 has a 25-300mm range.Another a wide area is zooming. While the S70 has a respectable 3.6 x, the S60 has a 12x zoom.
Now this will really come into play only if you like the picture at long distances. This can be a great point of sale when they sold the camera, but if you are not going to really zoom, why spend the money to get it.When it comes to sensitivity to light, these cameras are not very near S60 is head and shoulders above the S70. If this is a feature that is important to you, you may well want to spend more money to have the function. Again, much depends on the type of images you are about to be taking.
Amazingly enough, the rest of the features of the camera are very close. The digital zoom, video input, the weight, the effective resolution of the sensor and focus are all in line with each other. The last remaining real difference is the size of the display, because the S70 features a 1.8 inch screen compared to the 3 "screen on S60.As you can see, to be more than 5 years, the S70 can still hand, Nikon Digital Camera, with big boys.
As you can see that the S60 is the camera above, the question is worth extra $ 200 that you will pay for it? Look at the features that matter most to you and you may find that the S70 is still a great value for money. . .
